やはりこれは読むべき。
以前から存在だけは知っていた名著【7つの習慣】が今更ながらすごいです。この本を今読むきっかけは「自分の葬式セレモニーでは何と紹介されたいか」という一文からです。

自分ならどうだろうと考えてみました。

結構悩みます。
まず、「悪人だった」とは言われたくない。でも、「とても優しくていい人でした」でも何となく嫌だ。
そう考えると、生前誰もが考える「お金持ちになりたい」はどうだろう。

セレモニー会場で「彼は生前、とても多くの財を所有していました」とアナウンスが流れても、その状況を見ている設定の私の気分は微妙にしっくりこない。
私の理想としては、多くの人の役に立ち、人々を幸せにし、感謝され、多くの事業を手がけ多大なる成功を納め、多くの人の生活を豊かにするために貢献しました。
なんて言われていたい。

実際に自分はどんな事を考え、実はどうなりたいのかを明確に浮き彫りにしてくれます。

この本作者は1776年のアメリカ合衆国独立宣言以来これまで出版されたあらゆる「成功に関する文献」を200年分（すごいです！）調査しました。
調べていくうちにはっきりとしたパターンがあることに気づきました。
それは、最近の50年間に出版された「成功に関する書籍」にはどれも表面的な内容に終始しているというのです。
